A unique studio bursting with personality and purpose
Founder Story
I looked up and saw someone towing this futuristic-looking trailer into an event.
My young son Max loves anything that moves, so naturally he wandered over. That's how Piers Roberts and I started talking.
But while a chance encounter led to The Pod eventually being built, the dream was born a long time ago.
As a former radio producer, I have always loved the intimacy and intention of studios. In a storytelling sense, they are the caves and campfires of our time.
For ten years, I wanted to build one - to travel around the country recording podcasts and telling stories from iconic and unusual places.
But wanting one and building one are different things.
And there were always two major obstacles: cost and design.
How to make it look and feel premium enough to turn heads wherever it goes, while ensuring the highest quality recording environment and capability.
Turns out, that’s not an easy balance to strike, especially on the design side.
But Piers had all the answers, and the skill and the relentless drive to make it happen.
So, here we are, The Pod is very much a thing.
